Few Muslims crack National Defence Academy, Naval Academy Exam 2009

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission has announced the results of National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Exam (II) 2009. The examination was held for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of National Defence Academy and Naval Academy 10+2 (Executive Branch). Very few Muslims are among the successful candidates.

Among 694 successful candidates for Army/Navy, there are only 13 Muslims. For Air Force, 282 have been selected. Muslims among them are just 5 while for the Naval Academy there is only 1 Muslim among 57 successful candidates.

The UPSC has announced the results of National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Exam (II) 2009 on the basis of the results of written examination held by UPSC in August 2009 and the interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence. The examination was held for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of National Defence Academy for the 124th Course and Naval Academy 10+2 (Executive Branch) for 44th Course commencing from 30th June, 2010.

There are some common candidates in the three lists for Army/Navy, Air Force and Naval Academy. The total number of such candidates in the three lists is 337. The number of vacancies as intimated by the Government of India is 335 (195 for the Army, 039 for the Navy, 066 for the Air Force and 035 for the Naval Academy (Executive Branch).
