New Delhi : The Committee on Petitions (Rajya Sabha) has invited written memorandum containing suggestions, views and comments of individuals, institutions and organisations on the recent move of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development to introduce sex education in the form of Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools all over the country latest by November 10.

Islamabad : Incumbent Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf won Saturday's controversial presidential election by a huge margin, according to results announced by chief election commissioner. Formal notification of the military ruler as the winner has been barred by the Supreme Court, which is hearing petitions challenging his candidacy when he is the army chief.
BJP withdraws support to JD-S, seeks elections

New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday finally withdrew support to the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) government in Karnataka and demanded fresh elections in the state.
BJP leader Yashwant Sinha made the announcement here after Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy refused to hand over power to BJP despite a pledge taken 20 months ago when they formed a coalition government.
"We want immediate elections," Sinha said. "We have learnt a lesson, we have to be careful in future (while forming coalitions)."

Johannesburg : Led by a captain determined to win, India Monday defeated Pakistan by five runs with just three balls remaining in a pulsating final of the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship before a roaring crowd of thousands here and watched by many millions around the world.
Wild celebrations erupted when Sreesanth caught a lofty shot from Pakistan's highest scorer Misbah-ul-Haq in the game's last over bowled by Joginder Sharma at a crucial juncture when the game could have gone either way.

BJP seeks apology from government over Ram Sethu issue

Bhopal : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday sought an apology from the government for its stand on the Ram Sethu issue and asked it to immediately stop dredging work at the site to built the Sethusamudram shipping canal. It also sought acceptance of Lord Ram as a historical character and demanded that Ram Sethu or Adam's Bridge be declared a monument of national heritage.
The party passed a resolution to this effect on the second day of its ongoing national executive meet here.
