Patna: Of 72 officers of Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) who were promoted yesterday by Bihar government to the position of joint secretary, seven are Muslims. They are Akhlaq Ahmad, Saadat Hasan Manto, Mohammad Hasnain Khan, Aqil Zubair Hashmi, Mohammad Muslim Zia, Mohammad Saeeduddin Shah and Mohammad Saood.
The notification for their promotion was issued for their satisfactory services. Now these officers will enjoy salaries equivalent to a joint secretary. They were waiting eagerly for this decision as process for their promotion was going on for long and finally their dream came true yesterday.
During last one year Bihar government has been doing changes in posting of police forces and civil administration and has also given promotion to officers at various levels time to time.
