Demands by Muslims led to the decision to order a judicial inquiry on May 24 and Justice Bhaskar Rao was ordered to head the inquiry on June 3. Close to three years and there is no report in sight, in fact just on February 12th, government of Andhra Pradesh gave a fresh extension of six months to Justice Bhaskar Rao Commission.

A former member of AP State Minorities Commission Syed Taraq Quadri has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh asking why there is a need for extension when the Commission has completed its hearing long ago. Mr. Quadri has also asked the government to direct the Commission to submit its final report urgently.
