AWMELA making Azamgarh people aware of legal battle on Batla

Azamgarh: In order to make general public aware of the legal status of Batla House accused trials and the work done by the Association for Welfare, Medical, Educational and Legal Assistance, president Dr. Javed Akhtar and his colleagues organized meetings in Kotila Bazar and village ‘Anwak’.

Mr. Tariq Khan, who is associated with Batla House accused from the very beginning, explained in detail the present status of the case, about boys lodged in different jails of Delhi, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

Dr. Javed Akhtar informed the gathering about the recent success in getting a writ admitted in Supreme Court through Adv. M.S. Khan. The writ is about consolidation of cases at one place and speedy trial. This is in view of the fundamental right of Muslim youths accused in Batla House episode for a fast and just trial. The Supreme Court will hear the petition on February 22.

Dr. Javed Akhtar and his colleagues told about consultations with slain Adv Shahid Azmi and his help in the case of Muslim youths belonging to Mubarakpur, Azamgarh, who were arrested in Mumbai. The team told the villagers about the recent agreement with Jamiat Ulama through Shahid Azmi for Batla House accused lodged in Ahmedabad jail and termed as their great loss the death of a brilliant and fearless young lawyer.
