Another victory for SDPI in Rajasthan Panchayat polls

Bhopal: The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), candidate Mohammed Rizwan Khan has been elected as the Upsarpanch (vice president) of the Baldara Gram Panchayat in Baral district of Rajasthan where currently Panchayat elections are underway in different phases.

According to a Press release issued by A. Sayeed, General Secretary SDPI, Mohammed Rizwan was elected from Ward No. 11 of the Panchayat. He was again elected unopposed as the Upsarpanch by the other ten ward members and the Panchayat Sarpanch (president). The 32-year-old Mohammed Rizwan is the District office-bearer of the SDPI.

The present Sarpanch Chandraprakash Meena is an independent. The outgoing BJP representative Tasneem Banu was the vice president and Ramvilas Meena was the president of the Panchayat.

It may be mentioned here that another SDPI candidate Mohammed Haneef was earlier elected as the Sarpanch (president) of Chan Panchayat in the Sawai Madhopur district of the state. ([email protected])
