In continuance to the ongoing campaign, the Convenor of Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) Zafaryab Jilani advocate has decried the flammatory speeches by several organisations. “Some organisations are trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere of the country by their utterances. Communal tension is being flared up by spreadign rumours,” said Jilani.

Jilani also appealed to all secular parties and muslims to maitain communal harmony at all cost in the country. “We urge all the citizens and muslims for not getting carried away by such acts by certain organisations and maintain harmony in the country,” he stated. Jilani had spearheaded the Babri masjid issue for Sunni Waqf Board and appeared as counsel before the High Court.

Over the possible outcome of the court verdict, Jilani maintained that it is the duty of all to respect and obey the judiciary. “Though there is provision in law that if anyone is not satisfied with the verdict of the High Court he can approach the Supreme Court for relief. There should not be such actions where inflammatory speeches are given contemplating the verdict,” said Jilani. He claimed that such statements not only vitiate the atmosphere but also demean the decorum of judiciary. “These statements can be easily classified as ‘threats’ which is a contempt to the court. One should refrain from such statements and maintain peace in the nation,” he said.
