British Indian Muslims deplore fDi magazine’s honor to Modi
By TwoCircles.net News Desk,
New Delhi: The British Indian Muslims have deplored fDi magazine’s insistence on honouring Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, one of the accused for the 2002 Gujarat riots facing probe.
The fDi had chosen Modi as its Asian Personality of the Year (2009) but faced with opposition and condemnation within and outside India, the periodical decided to confer the award to the state of Gujarat, not Modi. The fDi’s website has announced, “Following a review prompted by the ongoing investigation into the 2002 Gujarat riots, fDi has decided to present its award to Gujarat state, rather than Mr Narendra Modi, the state's chief minister.”
In a statement issued today Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—CIM (UK) Mr Mohammad Munaf Zeena said, “The decision to confer the Asia fDi award to the state of Gujarat and not to Narendra Modi makes no difference as it is still a tribute to his so called economic development programmes. This is still a blatant insult to the souls of his victims and those who are still waiting for justice to be done.”
“Anyone with intelligence will not have any difficulty in concluding that in its second move fDi has gone as far as absolving Modi of the crimes committed by him during 2002 Gujarat genocide and that were confirmed and testified by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and the world media” Zeena said.
“fDi’s decision is as outrageous and as foolish as the praise by a pseudo historian of Hitler’s economic and social reforms in Germany. They should know that experts have rejected Modi’s so-called economic programmes as a failure and sheer propaganda with no significant improvement in the lives of majority of Gujaratis” he further said.
CIM (UK) has requested the periodical to withdraw its decision to award the state.
“We strongly urge the fDi organisers to reverse their decision and save themselves from the crime of praising and honouring a person who has been recognised as and will go down in history as the ‘Butcher of Gujarat’.”

Forget That all
Dear Viewers,
Muslims of our state are our brothers and sisters. time to time they admire and appreciate the functioneries of State Gujarat and openly salute the government of gujarat. why you people remind and reutter this nonsense words each and every time you get chance.
Unfortunate to honor Modi-the mass murderer
Its really unfortunate and disgusting to honor anything to Narendra Modi and his so called development in Gujarat. While same time USA put India in its watchlist due to Modi only,fDi is honouring him.Its ironic.
Right Protest, Wrong Target
Being too dumb to comprehend why people who have no dearth of meaningful things to do (and have been doing that) belittle themselves with meaningless issues, I can’t see any sense in this whole protest business. When a PRIVATE business house in FINANCIAL publication business declares a person presiding over perhaps the economically most successful State of India, as 'man of the year' in attracting FDI, what POLITICAL significance does it have to anyone who is basically not allergic to FDI? Can the governmental guys of the country where it is headquartered do a thing even if there is some sense in the protestors' outrage? It is something like an Arab player "doing his/her country proud" by conceding an international match to a Jew from Israel.
The FDI magazine, while announcing the "award", said: "Narendra Damodardas Modi, aged 58, has been the 14th chief minister of the Indian state of Gujarat since 2001. In 2007, he became the state’s longest serving chief minister and was elected for a third term in December that year." Coercing FT to delete the webpage using big noise among persons who may not have heard of the (little known) publication cannot deny the truth in the statement. It happens to be reality notwithstanding the pogrom of 2002 and dozens of fake encounters later. The protest only expose the hypocrisy of the "largest working democracy in the world", which the protestors stand by.
How many petitions were filed, with what results, when the 'honourable' Supreme Court put a typical victim of the blunder of 1947 behind bars for not respecting it? After witnessing all her family getting charred to death, she made the sin of "flip flop" when the impotence of the entity to punish such crimes became evident. The court even ordered the Income Tax minions to hound her!
