Union Minister talks to TCN on terrorism, SIMI, Bajrang Dal

Patna: In an exclusive interview with TwoCircles.net, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, blames politics of hatred for home-grown terrorism, some state governments for not pushing for a ban on Bajrang Dal and VHP and the very states for continued ban on SIMI.
Born in Muzaffarpur in 1956, Dr. Ahmad represents Madhubani in Lok Sabha. He belongs to a family of politicians and have been elected to Bihar Assembly several times. This is his second term in Lok Sabha. On a visit to Patna he sat down with TwoCircles.net in an exclusive interview on hot topics of the day.
Birth of home-grown terrorism
The home grown terrorism is a direct result of politics of hatred pursued by Narendra Modi, L K Advani and Pravin Togadia, Dr Shakeel Ahmad said adding “I m openly saying that the communal politics done by Modi, Advani and Togadia are responsible for the home grown terrorism in India. Otherwise before 1993 Bombay blast you cannot find a single Muslim involved in terror activities.”
In 46 years after Independence (1947-1993) there was not a single terrorist activity in which any particular community was framed. But it is only the politics of hatred actively and strongly pursued by these politicians and the Saffron brigade that is responsible for the “Islamic” terrorism or the home grown terrorism, the minister said pointing to the demolition of Babri Masjid and the riots that followed as main factors.
As far as the condemnation of terrorism is concerned, Dr. Ahmad finds the response of civil society unsatisfactory. The civil society must condemn terrorism in every way and that there should be no mercy for the perpetrators, he said.
Ban on Bajrang Dal and VHP
Dr. Shakeel Ahmad said the Centre cannot ban any outfit without the recommendation or the written complaint of the states where such organization is creating disturbances. The civil society, various social and human rights organizations have strongly advocated the ban on the VHP and Bajrang Dal.
But fortunately or unfortunately Karnataka and Orissa where they have been found to be involved in terrorizing minorities are ruled by the NDA. Covertly defending the culprits, these states have not sent the Centre any complaint which makes it technically difficult for the Centre to ban on the Hindutva outfits, he said.
He also criticized Bahujan Samaj Party supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for being soft on Hindutva forces.
Mayawati is inching closer towards the RSS and the Hindutva forces, the Union minister said while questioning her secular credentials.
Explaining his point he said this became very clear when she went with BJP and other parties while voting against the UPA government on the no-confidence motion on Indo-US nuclear deal. The minister gave another example of her weak secular credibility.
Recently there was a blast in Kanpur in which allegedly two members of VHP were killed. They were making bombs. The police recovered huge amount of ammonium nitrate and other explosive materials from the associates of the two killed. The police also recovered maps of railway stations and other places which possibly were their target.
In order to investigate the matter thoroughly, Dr. Ahmad said, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Prakash Jaiswal suggested the state government of Mayawati to recommend the centre a CBI inquiry into the blast. But she refused to do so.
The continued ban on SIMI
Asked why SIMI is still banned when it hasn’t been proved guilty in any terror case, Dr Shakeel Ahmad said there are some states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra which have argued that SIMI has been found to be involved in terror activities there and thus poses a threat to the national security.
There have been scores of innocent Muslims who have been arrested and tortured by the police in terror cases but later on found to be innocent and released. Their lives have been destroyed. Has the UPA government any plan to compensate and rehabilitate them?
The minister said what happened is normal. Going one step ahead he refused to admit that police tortures the terror accused.
The minister had no satisfactory reply when asked why the sensitive cases of terrorism are built up on the base of suspicions. He said that the police and investigative agencies do their job. Of course in some cases mistakes are also committed by them. But usually it is their job to inquire and investigate if they have suspicion on any one.

I want to say that give muslims their share in State police and armed forces. then muslim/minority sufferings in riots and other matters will be finished automatically. as it is the state police who kills , the muslims but in cases of hindus they protect them and give them courage to attck muslim populace even in curfew.
by doing so (Mixed police of all religions according to the population ratio) govt. should also feel safe. and peace will be estabilished in whole country.
just imagine if their will be a common police of all religions they will not sit idle when bajrangdal/vhp or shiv sena will do gunda gardi. even the police's own communal people cannot do the same because there will be some one who can object.

so there is need of hour to mix the police with all religious groups. if U make ATS or STF . take muslim in that group too.....

Dr Khan Sab, are you suggesting re-introduction of proportional representation which culminated in the partition of India??? The Indian Police, Judiciary, Politicians, Civil Administration etc etc have all been declared untrustworthy in this forum by my Muslim friends. The Muslims who are so unhappy in India must opt out of India. Ask the patron backer of all Muslims- Saudi Arabia and other Arab Countries, to grant permission to Indian Muslims to obtain citizenship and purchase property in those countries. upper caste and Hindutva Terrorism
The BJP needs the T word to win elections.
Their electoral base is made up of the communalised Hindus who have a grudge against Indian citizens who are not Hindu. Hire dalits as kar sevaks, put them on a train, get them burnt, then be outraged and say that Hindu pride was hurt, conduct a pogrom, wait fot the retaliation to come, and then wait for the Hindus to run to Modi and the BJP to save the Hindus.
The formula has worked in the past, it will work for some more time, except many Indians, including Hindus will get killed in the process.
To end terrorism, you need to weed out the BJP, RSS, BD, VHP et al.

In the current case Orissa, it was said Maoists killed the Hindu leader.
Even before waiting for an investigation, Hindu mobs killed Christians. It was the same in Godhra and Gujarat.
The Hindus complain about conversions. What is wrong with conversions ?
Those who convert to Christianity remain Indians.

Not a single Muslim is involved in any blast in India By saying the comunal politics of L.K Advani Modi and Togadia is responsible for home grown terror is false we reject this. It is the handy work of comunal and hate mongers work. By the way this type of deseption started in India when the co-operation between Israel and India devloped before this the same hate mongers were using the tactics of riots by killing people and looting the property of minorty and aresting them they wanted to keep the muslim comunity in fear psycho. After Babri Mosque demolition by the same hate mongers Muslim community came out of fear psycho. Now our children are stdying going to school and for higher education they coming to towns and upliftment is vivid so the same hate mongers do not want that our chidren should gain education so to creat other fear sycho they are targeting our students. We should take note of this seriously and built more hostels in major towns to accomodate our students abd encourage them to get higher education and defeat our enemy and do not get traped in revenge be patient and stead fast on the road to success InshaAllah one day we will defeat these charecterless people we will bw the winner InshaAllah
