New Delhi: The Congress-led UPA government which swears by Muslims’ welfare should reserve 13% reservation for Muslim women out of proposed 33% reservation for women, said Mohammad Adil Hasan Azad, All India Minorities’ Youth Forum chief.

He demanded that the government should grant reservation to Muslim women in proportion to their population.

He pointed out that Sachar Committee has confirmed that even sixty years after the independence of the country, Muslims are forced to live in poverty for which both the government and the shortcomings of Muslims are responsible. He also demanded from the government that Muslims should be included in article 341 of the Constitution of India.
