Zila Khan to open music schools in Mumbai, Kerala
By IANS,
Thiruvananthapuram : Leading Sufi singer Zila Khan, the daughter of late sitar maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan, Thursday said she will open music schools called Ustad Gahs for children in Mumbai and Kerala.
Khan, who will hold a concert here Friday, told reporters that children would be taught all forms of classical music at the Ustad Gahs.
"In Mumbai, the setting up of the centre has already begun. In Kerala, talks are on. The Ustad Gah will be a full time residential course with no money being charged from these students. I am associating with the Unicef for this project and the children would also be there from abroad," she said.
