Bhopal : Hectic preparations are on for the `Kisan Mahapanchayat' (farmers' mega rally)which Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh will address here Wednesday.

A large number of farmers is expected to participate in the rally being organized at the initiative of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, official sources said.

As many as 63 stalls are being set up to highlight the developmental activities as well as the state government's work for the welfare of the farmers.

Farmer representatives of various `gram panchayats' of the state would participate in the Kisan Mahapanchayat. Four farmers would represent each block, Agriculture Minister Gopal Bhargava, who reviewed the preparations, Tuesday told IANS.

Officials of deputy director level, assisted by Mandi secretaries, have been entrusted with the task of looking after the arrangements.
