Hyderabad: The pressure by civil liberties organization and families of detained youth made the Hyderabad police relent and release some of the Muslim youth that it has in its custody for many days.

According to Lateef Khan of Liberties Monitoring Committee, India (CLMCI), some of the detained youth have been released last night and more are expected to be released today or to be produced in the court.

Human rights organization Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee, India (CLMCI) had threatened to launch an agitation to secure the release the illegally detained youths. While talking to TwoCircles.net, Latif Khan alleged that none of the Muslims arrested after recent bomb blasts or after Makka Masjid blast are charged with bomb blasts. In fact, after investigation and torture either they are released or put in jail under trumped up charges.

He said that these acts of police are grave violation of human rights and civil liberties. Police is violating the Supreme Court guidelines for arrest, detention and interrogation. He said these actions of the police will not help stop the spread of terrorism.
