Trideep Rai to lead Indian basketball team

Bangalore : Trideep Rai of Uttarakhand has been named captain of the Indian team for the Asian Basketball Championships to be played in Tokushima, Japan, from July 28 to Aug 5.

According to a Basketball Federation of India statement, the squad has been in training with Serbian coach Aleksandar Bucan at Sports Authority of India's south centre in Bangalore since early June.

The squad:
Trideep Rai (Uttarakhand), Sambhaji Kadam (Services), Dilawar Singh (Punjab), Jagdeep Singh (Punjab), Rajanna Sanjay Raj (Karnataka), Roshan. R. Thankachan (Karnataka), Lokesh Yadav (Rajasthan), Shiv Kumar (Uttarakhand), Anoop Mukkanniyil (Uttarakhand), Riyazuddin (Uttarakhand), Murlikrishna R. (Uttarakhand), Ravi Kumar (Tamil Nadu).

Aleksandar Bucan (chief coach), Mahender S Rathore (coach), K. Govindaraj (manager), Amarjot Singh (Referee) and Naresh Aneja (FIBA commissioner).
