NIIT empowers schools students for knowledge era

Kolkata : Delhi Public School (DPS)-Ruby Park Thursday launched a computer learning centre here in partnership with NIIT, Asia's largest IT training institute, to offer an integrated computer education programme to schoolchildren.
"This programme of NIIT is devoted towards making education more meaningful with the help of communication technology. We aim to provide holistic training that includes teachers' training programmes and innovative learning methods for school students. We have also included some school curriculum and covered few key subjects like mathematics and science in our programmes," said NIIT Schools Learning Solutions Business president L. Balabramanian.
He said it is heartening to note that progressive educational institutions like DPS are recognising the difference that IT can make in our daily lives.
With the inauguration of the training centre, DPS-Ruby Park is now all set to offer a comprehensive programme ranging from infrastructure, consultancy to facility management, assessment and certification to its students.
Speaking on the occasion, DPS-Ruby Park Principal Sunita Sen said the programme has been designed following the guidelines of the NCERT curriculum.
Keeping in mind the motto of equipping India's future generations, NIIT is implementing their innovative programme, NIIT K-12, in over 3,500 government and private schools across India.
