Shravasti : A Muslim boy Azam Ahmad Ansari alias Guddu who married a Hindu girl Neetu three years ago was killed this Saturday in Imiliya Ganj village of UP.

Azam and Neetu married each other three years ago in a court ceremony. Later, they preformed Nikah as well. They settled in the village of Kannanpur Nausharaw.

Few days ago, Neetu's mother came to their house to take her daughter to her house for few days. Few days later, when Azam along with a friend went to get Neetu, they both were beaten by villagers. They were beaten with sticks so severely that both died on the spot.

Later, villagers filed an FIR that four people entered the village for stealing and they were caught and beaten. FIR says that angry crowd killed two of them and other two ran away.

It comes on the heels of another incident in the same district where a Brahmin girl's elopement with a Muslim boy from neighbouring village prompted a mob attacking Muslims of that village and raping Muslim women to take revenge.
